Calderglen park, with its magnificent countryside, historic buildings and gardens, is an excellent day out for all the family. With nature trails along the River Calder, playparks, a childrens zoo and a full sized public golf course, Calderglen offers a relaxing and enjoyable day out in the best of East Kilbride countryside.

Torrance House

Torrance House is one of the original buildings of old East Kilbride, built in the 14th century.

Today, Torrance House hosts an interactive museum of East Kilbride and local nature, affording visitors a glimpse of early town life.

The building features excellent gardens and a cafeteria.

Nature Trails

Calderglen Park offers numerous nature trails, splintering off the main road into the park.

The trails follow the River Calder, meeting at Horseshoe Falls.

For the Kids . . .

The park provides excellent facilities for children:

  • Modern childrens playpark
  • Indoor aquarium and reptile centre
  • Childrens zoo, with birds and small animals
  • An ice cream stand!
